2 Stars - Bad
So everyone's favourite paranoid xenephobe is back for another round. Shame this one isn't very good.
The problem with this film is one very simple one, it isn't the plot, that's fine; it isn't the acting, they all do a decent job. The problem is Olivier Megaton, the director, who doesn't know how to make action scenes enjoyable.
In an action sequence you need to be able to tell what is happening through well paced editing and steadily shot footage. This film's camera shakes about all over the place and the editing of scenes is so fast that your brain doesn't have time to register what they are. This makes the action scenes really annoying to watch, and in an action film that is inexcusable.
What do you mean I don't get an iconic monologue this time? |
It’s exactly the same type of stuff the second go around, except with more of it. More action, more running, more shooting, and most of all, more Liam Neeson kicking ass. That’s all I really needed. Nice review.
