Jack The Giant Slayer - A Review

Fe Fi Fo Fum, Ask not whence the thunder comes, for between heaven... wait? Ian McKellan was only the narrator in the trailer and isn't in the film in any way? Lame!

Jack the Giant Slayer is a re-imagining of Jack and the Beanstalk in the ilk of Snow White and the Huntsman or Hansel and Gretel Witchhunters. It is decent.

This film's major problem is an inconsistent tone. There are times when it tries to be funny, and isn't, and other times where it takes itself seriously which really works well and should have been the tone for the whole film.

Still more dignified than the Star Wars prequels.

In short, I'd say wait for TV, and if you do see it, there's nothing 3D would improve.
